Ever wonder if the pesticides used on lawns are harmful to the wrong insects?

The Austin Chapter 10 of the Izaak Walton League will host Lex Horan, Pesticide Action Network organizer, at 7 p.m. Monday in the Ruby Rupner Auditorium at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center.

Horan is based in PAN’s Minneapolis office, where he organizes alongside Midwest communities facing the harmful impacts of pesticides. He will speak on campaigns to protect bees and other pollinators from pesticides.

He will discuss potential legislative action to suspend the use of neonicotinoids and fipronil, systemic insecticides that some driving factors behind bee declines. For more information on PAN visit www.panna.org.
