Gene L. Buland, 81, born May 27, 1933, passed away May 4, 2015, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Gene was a sales representative for 42 and-a-half years at Hormel Foods. He spent retirement as a school bus driver in the Omaha area. He was a member of Millard Lions Club, Millard American Legion Post No. 374, Benson VFW, and South Omaha Eagles.

Gene was preceded in death by wife, Marilyn Buland; parents, M. Joseph and Minnie J. (Vold) Buland; brother, Jay M. Buland.

He is survived by wife of 18 years, Marilee Buland; son, Larry Buland and wife, Jeanne, Omaha, Nebraska; daughter, Linda Sedlacek and husband, Joseph, Syracuse, Nebraska; grandsons: Caleb (Nicole) and Cory (Olga) Buland, Chris, Chad (Samantha), Cody (Sarah), Curt (Jamie), Craig, Clint (Marika Harpst) Sedlacek; six great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter; step children: Michelle Squier (Jeff) Golden, Colorado, Dean Oltmanns (Pam), Dwayne Oltmanns, both of Omaha; step-grandchildren; Kyra, Liz Marie, Ian Squier; brothers: LeRoy Buland (Marlis), Austin, Minnesota, Virgil Buland (LaVonne) Chandler, Arizona; nieces, nephews; and many friends.

There will be a visitation Thursday, May 7, 2015, from 4 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crosby Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will take place Friday at 10 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Master East Campus, 2617 S. 114th St. Interment will be at Voss Mohr Cemetery. The family will direct memorial contributions to local charities.
