No one was injured in a trailer house fire Wednesday at 21980 581st Ave. inside Austin Park.

Two people and a dog are safe as Rose Creek and Austin firefighters put out flames at the trailer home. Though the fire’s cause is unknown at this point, homeowner Lisa Canady believes it could be related to her furnace.

“I woke up this morning for work and smoke was coming out of the ceiling stacks,” she said.

Firefighters were called to the scene at about 11:45 a.m. Canady, boyfriend Travis Sandon and their 3-year-old dachshund, Stella, safely got out of the home. Firefighters were still on the scene as of 1:30 p.m.

The trailer is considered a total loss, according to Rose Creek Assistant Fire Chief Al Mullenbach. The state fire marshal will investigate the fire.
