ACT announces auditions for ‘South Pacific’

Albert Lea Community Theatre (ACT) announces auditions will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26 and Wednesday, May 27, for “South Pacific” at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center, 147 N. Broadway in Albert Lea.

Eight performances of this epic musical romance are scheduled for July 16-25. There are many roles in the show for men and women. Young men and women in their late teens, 20s and 30s are encouraged to audition for this large cast of sailors and Navy nurses. There are also some roles for middle aged adults and two children, a boy about age 8 and a girl about age 11, that will be cast. Those auditioning should be prepared to sing, learn a simple dance routine and read from the script. Rehearsals will be scheduled weeknights, with some weekend involvement closer to the performance dates.
