Grand Meadow senior Wyatt Richardson had a big weekend on the wrestling mat as he won the 195-pound title at the state Greco-Roman wrestling championships in Forest Lake, Minn. Saturday and he won the 195-pound title at the Minnesota State Freestyle wrestling championships Sunday in Forest Lake.

Richardson went 6-0 on the weekend and he prevailed against some of the top wrestlers in the state.

“It was pretty tough and I was pretty sore,” Richardson said. “My practice partner Michael Otomo [of Dover-Eyota] kept me going and he kept me distracted so I wouldn’t think about things too much.”
