Former Bruin signs pro contract

Former Austin Bruin Keegan Asmundson signed his first professional contract with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL recently.

Asmundson had been playing at Canisius College, where his college career ended in the Atlantic Hockey Conference Tournament. Asmundson has already started two games for the Stingrays — he had 20 saves in a 3-2 loss and he he picked up his first pro win in a 4-0 shutout.

Asmundson had an 11-7-4 record with a saver percentage of 92.6 at Canisius and he played in 38 games for the Bruins in 2010-2011, going 18-18-2 with a 92.3 save percentage.
