First trip of 2015 will be to the Plymouth Playhouse

“Late Nite Catechism” on Wednesday, April 22, will be our first outing for 2015. This will be a new production at the Plymouth Playhouse. It promises to be “a habit forming hoot.” Departure will be at 9 a.m. from our usual location at the south side of Walmart.

“St.Paul Gangster Tour” on Wednesday, May 13: A costumed guide will take us back into time as seen through the eyes of a 1930s gangster. Lunch will be in the Wabasha Street Caves as we explore where the gangster hide out.

A stop at the newest Twin City Outlet Mall in Eagan will allow us some free time to explore.

We will depart at 7:30 a.m. from Walmart. The trip fee is due by April 28. Last day to pay.

“Seed Savers Exchange” on Thursday, June 4: The Vesterheim Norwegian Museum in Decorah, Iowa, will feature more than 30 gardens with a variety of heirloom seeds to view and purchase. A tour guide will inform us as we also view two flowering gardens. A gift shop with gardening items and seed will be available. A Scandinavian lunch prior to spending the afternoon in the National museum and heritage center which show cases authentic Norwegian artifacts. Sign-up is on-going and fee is due by May 19. Departure time will be at 7 a.m. and return about 6 p.m.

“Damn Yankees” on Wednesday, June 24: This musical will be at the Ordway Theater in St Paul. We are in the “baseball” mood and attending this production may be the next best thing to attending a Minnesota favorite pastime. Who knows, we may even have some peanuts or Cracker Jack along on the tour. But we promise, no rain-out or sunburns will be included.

The fee is due by April 23 with a few seats still available.

“New England Fall Tour” from Sept. 24 to Oct. 7: This is planned as our extended tour this year.

With many historic stops, step-on guides covering 10 states and a visit into Canada to see Niagara Falls.

This tour will include the statue of Liberty, two days in New York, and a stop at New Port, Rhode Island.

Deposit is due by May 15. Some space is still available.

The travel hours at the Mower County Senior Center are 9:30 a.m. to noon on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
