DeLoris “Dee” Eleanor Johnson, 95, of Adams, Minnesota, died Friday, April 17, 2015, at the Adams Health Care Center.

DeLoris was born April 29, 1919, near Ostrander, Minnesota, to Simon and Martha (Knutson) Johnson. She graduated from Adams High School in 1937. After graduation, she and her family lived in the southern Minnesota area for 11 years. In 1948, DeLoris and Clifford Johnson moved to Ames, Iowa. During the next 30 years, she owned and worked in nursing home care. In 1978, they sold the business and moved back to Dexter, Minnesota. Dee worked at the canning company in Dodge Center for several years and provided daycare in their home until 1992. She later lived in the Twin Towers in Austin and North Gate Plaza in Rochester. Since 2010, she resided at the Adams Health Care Center in Adams, Minnesota. Dee enjoyed cooking, crocheting, cards and dancing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Johnson; brother Leonard Johnson; sister Norma Johnson Legried; infant sister Naoma Johnson; and stepson Clifford Johnson, Jr.

DeLoris is survived by her two sons: DuWayne Mickelson, Mantorville, Minnesota, and Ronald Mickelson, Grand Rapids, MN Minnesota; one daughter Janice (John) Earll of Ogden, Iowa; stepson Delmar Johnson, Austin, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 24, at the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeremy Johnson officiating. Interment will be at East St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery in Rock Dell, Minnesota. Visitation will be at the funeral home for one hour before the service.
