Blossoms outlast WEM in nine innings

The Blooming Prairie baseball team beat Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (4-3 overall) 15-14 in nine innings on the road Monday.

Freshman center fielder Lucas Noble made a diving catch with two outs and a WEM runner on third to seal the win for BP.

The Awesome Blossoms (3-3 overall) took a 13-12 lead on a John Rumpza double in the top of the ninth inning and they added two more runs when Noble singled with the bases loaded.

“It’s a big win for us,” BP head coach Matt Kittelson said. “We came back from being down a number of times in the game. I’m pretty happy with how they kept fighting.”

BP trailed 5-0 to start the game.
