Baseball: Strunk hits grand slam as BP gets a split

The Blooming Prairie baseball team split a doubleheader with Maple River (3-9 overall) as they lost the first game 15-0 in five innings and won the second game 7-4 in BP Thursday.

Ethan Strunk hit a third inning grand slam to break open the second game for BP (4-7 overall).

John Rumpza took the loss in game one and Sam Swenson picked up his third win of the season in game two for BP.

“John didn’t pitch poorly in the first game,” BP head coach Matt Kittelson said. “They hit the ball really well and it seemed like every time they hit to the gap. In the second game we came out with a little different attitude and we hit the ball. Sam was a big reason why won that game.”
