The Lyle-Pacelli softball team picked up its first win of the season when it beat Medford (1-6 overall) 8-4 Tuesday.

Danielle Hinz struck out eight and allowed just two hits in seven innings for the Athletics (1-6 overall). LP started seven girls that were freshman or younger and Medford had ten players that were juniors or seniors.

“These girls believed not only me, but in their teammates and themselves. It was an all around team effort,” LP head coach Jeff Yocom said. “It’s just a preview of what’s coming in the years to come.”
