The Austin girls golf team finished eighth out of nine teams at the New Prague invite Friday.

The Packers finished with a team score of 432 and Mara Overby shot a 98 to lead Austin. Kellie Baier shot a 112 for the Packers in her first varsity action.

“We shot about as expected. It was so cold and windy and it was raining the whole time,” Austin head coach Ryan Wiechmann said. “A lot of our girls don’t have any experience in playing in these conditions and I wasn’t disappointed by any stretch. Kellie stepped up for us today.”
