The Southland softball team opened its season with a 10-0 loss in six innings at Plainview-Elgin-Millville (1-0 overall, 1-0 Three Rivers) in Plainview Monday.

The Rebels (0-1 overall, 0-1 Three Rivers) were within 4-0 after four innings, but Southland’s starting pitcher Sam Emanuel was hit in the leg with a line drive and had to leave the game.
