Senior Center taking part in March Millions

Published 1:30 pm Sunday, March 1, 2015

I live here, I give here.

People give in many different ways. Some give of their time, some give things, and some fiscally give.

The Mower County Senior Center appreciates all the ways people give to us. During the month of March the Senior Center has been selected as one of the one hundred agencies in southeast Minnesota to participate in the March Millions. By now you may have seen it on TV, but if you haven’t this is what it is.

The Otto Bremer Foundation is excited to announce their entry into the grant-making community of southeastern Minnesota. To celebrate this event, the Otto Bremer Foundation will generously match donations made by any individual through GiveMN.org to selected charitable organizations benefiting southeastern Minnesota.

Organizations may earn up to $100,000 in matching funds before the full $1 million match is reached during the month of March.

Not only is each donation to selected southeastern Minnesota organizations doubled during the campaign, but donations have the chance to increase by an additional $1,000 or $10,000. From March 1 through March 31, every donation made on GiveMN.org to participating organizations will be entered into a daily drawing for a Bremer Boost a $1,000 addition to the donation.

On March 31, one donation will be randomly drawn from all March Millions donations to receive a $10,000 Bremer Boost.

We need your to help with this campaign. All you have to do is go onto givemn.org, click on March millions, then select Mower County Seniors, Inc. This will bring you to the Senior Center’s page where you can select your donation.

Your donation goes to help us provide the many services and programs we offer at the Senior Center. Please help us stretch your donations by using givemn.org for the matching grant. Thank You for Your Support.

We look forward to seeing you at our many programs at the Senior Center.

Don’t forget our coffee shop, where every day you can have homemade soup for $1 and a sandwich for 50 cents.
