The Lyle-Pacelli girls basketball team will play in its first ever Class A state tournament 5 p.m. Thursday at Mariucci Arena at the University of Minnesota.

The Athletics (25-3 overall) will play No. 3 seeded Mountain Iron-Buhl (28-2 overall).

MIB beat Cromwell in the Section 7A title game to get to state. MIB beat Blooming Prairie 53-36 Dec. 6.

Pacelli High School will host a send-off for the LP girls basketball team in Pacelli Gym Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Lyle students and Paceli students will join together to send the team to state.

The pep-fest will end with students lining the sidewalks outside of Pacelli to cheer on the bus as it leaves town.
