There were several fatal crashes in southeastern Minnesota over the weekend, including one where a 28-year-old Albert Lea man was killed.

Tyler S. Turner died Sunday morning after his vehicle reportedly ran off the road and struck a bridge pillar on Interstate 90 three miles west of Blue Earth.

Turner was driving a 2004 Pontiac Aztek westbound on I-90 near milepost 116 right before 9 a.m. when the crash occurred, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The report indicated Turner struck the bridge to Faribault County Road 5.

The State Patrol does not indicate why Turner may have left the roadway. The report states road conditions were dry at the time, and Turner was wearing his seat belt.

The Faribault crash was one of two fatalities in southern Minnesota Sunday morning.

In a second crash, east of Stewartville, the driver of a 1997 Ford Ranger lost control of the truck and went into the south ditch and rolled.
