6 injured in Highway 63 crash

Six people were injured in a three-car crash Sunday afternoon after a Rochester man’s Chevy Impala collided with a Buick LaCrosse on Highway 63.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports 22-year-old Phillip Clendening, the driver of the Impala, and his passenger, Catherine Queiser, 22, of Dallas, Wisconsin, suffered non life-threatening injuries at about 4:20 p.m. Sunday.

Clendening was traveling southbound while Stephen and Ronald Howden, 30 and 67, drove northbound in the LaCrosse. The cars collided head-on and were struck by a van driving by Danny Cater, 49, of Hastings. Cater and two other people were uninjured.

Both Howdens and two of Cater’s passengers were injured in the crash. The six injured were treated at Mayo Clinic Rochester — St. Marys Campus.

The state patrol reports conditions were icy at the time of the crash.
