Brownsdale Study Club

Mary Gallaher entertained the Study Club on Feb. 18. Ten members answered the roll call a zoo you have visited. Como, Minnesota and San Diego were favorites.

The January minutes and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.

For old business, changes were made in the monthly calendar books. A card had been sent to Shelley after the death of her father. Rene thanked Mildred for taking the January minutes.

Our new business was to sign a get well card for Ida Foster who was in the hospital. The Blood Mobile will be at the Brownsdale Lutheran Church on March 9 at 2 to 7 p.m. The March 18 meeting will be with Shelley Vogel at 2 p.m.

Sarah Hatten had the main topic on an article from the February Readers Digest, on understanding your doctors notes. “The patient looked on as the doctor entered his notes. She made additional comments and corrections about her complaints. Both had a better understanding of her problems and diagnosis.”

Joyce Juhnke had the outside reading on an article from the “Ideal Magazine,” on the nine patch quilt in the acetic. Joyce displayed a handmade quilt of 1906 and made by her husband’s great grandfather. He had hand drawn President McKinley, the U.S. Capitol, various people and trees and hand embroidered each square. He had hand-quilted with the neatest stitches.
