The No. 4 seeded Blooming Prairie girls basketball team knocked off No. 5 Randolph (22-5 overall) 60-48 in a Section 1A West quarterfinal game in BP Thursday.

The Rockets got as close as four points in the second half, but BP (22-3 overall) was able to pull away. Taylor Hagen had 24 points for the Awesome Blossoms and Madison Worke added 21 points.

“We kept plugging away and making shots and at the end we worked and got some easy baskets to extend the lead,” BP head coach John Worke said. “It was a good first game of the tournament. We knew they would have confidence and we would have to overcome that.”
