Renae J. Lundene, 52, of Austin, Minnesota, died unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

She was born April 26, 1962, in Austin, Minnesota, to Curtis and Maxine (Exe) Lundene. Renae grew up in Austin, graduating from Austin High School in 1980. Following graduation, she attended Austin Community College, and then completed her education at Mankato State University where she received her bachelor’s degree. Renae worked at State Farm Insurance and Traveler’s Insurance before starting her career with Mayo Clinic. She loved spending time with her great nieces and nephews — they were everything to her. Renae loved her Swarovski crystals. Her other favorite pastimes included gathering with ‘The Queens,’ playing in her card club, and shopping.

Renae is survived by her mother Maxine Lundene of Austin; her sister DeAnn Lundene of Onalaska, Wisconsin; her long-time special friend Ron Dreyer of Rochester, Minnesota; three nieces: Jennifer, Sarah, and Stacy; two nephews: Chris and Neil; 10 great-nieces and nephews; her cat Lucky; many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Curtis Lundene; and her sister Cheryl Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, at Worlein Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lundene family in memory of Renae. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
