Police have assigned several detectives to follow up on a spree of property damage reports from last weekend.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said officers are still investigating about 12 cases where vandals shot out car windows with a BB or pellet gun.

At least 12 Austin victims have reported damage to their cars on Saturday, Sunday and Monday according to Krueger.

In each report, windows on the driver’s side appeared to be damaged or shot out by a BB gun or a pellet gun. Almost every vehicle with reported damage was parked on the street as well.

Krueger said police are investigating the incidents. If one person was responsible, that suspect could face felony criminal damage to property charges as the reports total more than $1,000 in damaged property.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call police at 507-437-9400. Krueger said callers can remain anonymous when they give tips to officers.

—9:10 p.m., 1400 block of Fourth Avenue Southeast, rear driver’s side window shot out of green Plymouth Voyager. Reportee stated his wife’s car was also egged the week before.

—unknown time, 800 block of 17th Street Southwest, driver’s side window shot out of a 2006 Dodge Ram.

Jan. 11

—12:03 a.m., 800 block of 17th Street Southwest, front window and driver’s side window shot on a 1998 Ford Explorer.

—02:19 a.m. 500 block of 21st Avenue Northwest, driver’s side window shot on a 1995 Dodge pickup.

—02:31 a.m., 700 block of Third Avenue Northwest, rear driver’s side window shot out of 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix.

—8:48 a.m., 900 block of Ninth Avenue Southwest, driver’s side window shot out of a Jeep Wrangler.

—12:15 p.m., 300 block of Eighth Street Northwest, rear driver’s side window shot out of 2002 Mini-Cooper.

—1:59 p.m., 10th Avenue and 10th Street Southwest, driver’s side window possibly shot out of a Dodge Stratus.

—3:39 p.m., 700 block of Ninth Avenue Southwest, driver’s side windows shot out of 2000 Ford Windstar and 1997 Volkswagen Jetta.

—20:59 p.m., 500 block of 11th Street Southwest, driver’s side window shot out of car.
