LP boys win fifth straight game with big second half effort

The Lyle-Pacelli boys basketball team played big in the second half to win its fifth straight game.

LP, which trailed by nine at the break, bounced back to get an 81-56 win at Mabel-Canton (5-4 overall, 3-4 SEC) Monday.

The Athletics (6-2 overall, 6-1 SEC) outscored MC 60-26 in the second frame.

“It was a little bit of everything,” LP head coach Dean DeBoer said. “We rebounded better, we played with energy and we made more shots. We got to the basket and finished in the second half.”

Noah Jiskra led LP with 22 points.

The Athletics will get a break as their next game isn’t until Jan. 6 when they host Glenville-Emmons.
