Karen Ruth (Burzinski) Erickson, 67, of River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away on Dec. 17, 2014, in River Falls, Wisconsin.

Karen was born Jan. 5, 1947, in Austin, Minnesota, to Robert and Violet Burzinski. She married Mel Erickson on March 19, 1971, in Wayzata, Minnesota. Karen graduated from Pacelli High School in 1965 and St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1967. She worked as an RN at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, and later was co-owner in the family auto body business.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Mel Erickson; sons: Greg (Angie) Erickson, and Michael (Michelle) Erickson; three grandchildren: Peyton, Makenna and Bailey. She is further survived by sisters: Sarah (Steve) Tupper Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Joan Burzinski, Austin, Minnesota, and brothers Michael (Linda) Burzinski, Austin, Minnesota, and James (Kimberly) Burzinski, Pueblo, Colorado; and sister-in-law Kathy Burzinski, Becker, Minnesota. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Violet; her brother Stephen; and her mother and father-in-law Arthur and Helen.

Bakken-Young Funeral Home, River Falls, Wisconsin, is assisting the family with arrangements. Visitation will take place Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Christ Center Assembly of God Church. 810 Northview Drive, Hudson, WI 54016. A service will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Christ Center Assembly of God Church. Pastor Mike Roeder will officiate. Memorials preferred to the family.
