BP girls step up on defense in win over NRHEG

The Blooming Prairie girls basketball team clamped down on defense as it beat New Richland-HEG (1-3 overall, 1-1 Gopher) 52-28 in BP Tuesday.

Madison Worke led the Awesome Blossoms (3-1 overall, 2-0 Gopher) with 21 points and Taylor Hagen added 14 points and 13 rebounds.

BP held the Panthers to 8 points in the first half and NRHEG shot just 22 percent from the field on the night.

BP hadn’t beaten NRHEG since 2008 when the Blossoms last won the Gopher Conference.
