Beverly J. Stark, 83, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.

Beverly Jean Thompson was born July 28, 1931, in Barnum, Minnesota, to George Thompson and Olive (Wieck) Thompson. She attended school in Lewiston, Minnesota. On July 2, 1949, Beverly and Marvin Stark were united in marriage in Altura, Minnesota. The couple was blessed with five children. Beverly worked for Viracon for 14 years, retiring in 1991. Over the years, Beverly lived in several places, including Utica, Blooming Prairie, Montgomery, Pratt, Claremont, and then back to Blooming Prairie. Her favorite pastimes were fishing, camping and traveling, especially to South Padre Island, Texas. She especially loved baking and cooking for others.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Marvin Stark of Blooming Prairie; her children: Dave (Sue) Stark of Owatonna, Minnesota, Jackie (Gary) Johnson of New Richland, Minnesota and Kathy (Ken) Ryks of Blooming Prairie; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers: Ronald (Pearl) Thompson, Richard (Carol) Thompson, Harland (Berna) Thompson; sister Marie Ziemer, brother-in-law Floyd Thompson; many nieces, nephew, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Olive Thompson; two sons: Roger Stark and Wayne Stark; great-grandson Daniel Piepho, sisters: Margaret and Ileen Thompson, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kenny and Lois Ellinghuysen; sister-in-law and her husband Alice and Sy Woxland; brother-in-law William Ziemer; brother-in-law and his wife Frank and Berniece Stark; and brothers Jerry Stark and Conrad Stark.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, with Pastor Charles Leonard and Pastor Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. immediately preceding the service. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Bixby at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family in memory of Beverly. Services prearranged and performed by Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home.
