The Austin girls basketball team couldn’t finish things off as it lost 55-52 at Rochester Century (5-1 overall, 5-1 Big Nine) Friday.

The Packers (1-7 overall, 1-5 Big Nine) had the ball with less than one minute left in the game, but they committed two turnovers and missed a 3-pointer on their last three possessions as the Panthers took the lead for good.

“We felt like we had the game in our control,” Austin head coach Todd Johnson said. “We’ve just got to figure out how to win games and finish. We have to make sure we close them out. We had it, they should’ve had to foul us and instead we turn the ball over. The kids gave it everything they had, it just didn’t turn out in our favor. ”
