Mary Ann “Dolly” Maiers, 79, of Austin, Minnesota, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

She was born May 21, 1935, in Pierz, Minnesota, to Harry and Loretta (Lang) Goodman. She grew up in Stewart, Minnesota.

On Nov. 7, 1953, she married Ray Maiers at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart, Minnesota. She spent most of her married life caring for her six children in the Stewart area. In January of 1977, they moved to Adams, Minnesota, where they owned and operated Allied Lanes until they retired. Their dream came true when they purchased their lake home in Faribault, Minnesota. In 2000, they moved to Austin, Minnesota.

Dolly was a loving and caring person, always thinking of others before herself. Her faith and family were most important in her life.

Survivors include her daughters: Lorrie (Larry) Ewert, Buffalo, Minnesota, Judy (Paul) Kuttner, Austin, Minnesota, Jolene (Gary) Viktora, Ellendale, Minnesota; sons: Steve (Mary) Maiers, Austin, Minnesota, Randy (Kristi) Maiers, Glenville, Minnesota; and daughter Renee (Jeff) Lonergan, Austin, Minnesota; 20 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren with two on the way. She is also survived by brother, Les (Luicille) Goodman, Emily, Minnesota; sister, Sylvia (John) Webb, St. Paul, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Rose Ann Goodman, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; and many brother and sister-in-laws; nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years Ray Maiers; brothers: Leo Goodman, Vern Goodman, Melvin Goodman, Virgil Goodman; and sister Evelyn Kalenberg Finken.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Jim Steffes officiating. There will be a 6:45 p.m. wake service on Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Casket bearers are Philip Ewert, Ryan Kuttner, Linda Dobberstein, Justin Maiers, Raquel Maiers and Michael Lonergan. Honorary casket bearers are Matthew Ewert, Stephanie Kirby, Jonathan Ewert, Sarah Olson, Daniel Viktora, Lisa Orthaus, Amy Jensen, Amanda Speltz, Dale Viktora, Melissa Hoerter, Angela Wangen, Andrew Maiers, Brooklyn Maiers and Allison Maiers.
