The Southland football team closed out its regular season with a commanding statement as it blanked Chatfield (4-4 overall, 4-4 SFA Blue) 12-0 in Adams Wednesday.

The Rebels (5-3 overall, 5-3 SFA Blue) held the Gophers to just 86 total yards in the win.

“In all the years I’ve coached, I’ve never seen a defense play like that,” Southland head coach Shawn Kennedy said.

Dominiq Bouska had a field goal to put Southland up 3-0 in the first quarter and he added another field goal to make it 12-0 late in the game.

Adam Koenigs, who had 100 yards of offense had the game’s only TD when he burst into the end zone from the goal-line in the second half.

“Their whole goal tonight was to finish,” Kennedy said. “They did and it was a great win tonight.”
