The Herald would like to congratulate Kelly Nesvold and all the people who helped him surpass his goal for 100M4HUNGER — both in miles and in money.

Nesvold, owner of Wellness 1st Chiropractic in Austin, successfully completed his 100M4HUNGER run on Saturday and Sunday by running and walking about 103 miles from the Minnesota State Capitol to Cornerstone Church in Austin.

It was an impressive feat, but what’s more impressive is the fact that Nesvold surpassed his goal to raise $25,000 to buy 100,000 meals for hungry children through Convoy of Hope, a faith-based nonprofit that does disaster relief in 11 countries. As of Friday, the effort had raised $32,500, which Nesvold estimated would make for more than 120,000 meals.

It was a great cause, and it brought the community together. Cornerstone Church supported Nesvold during his push. Hormel Foods Corp.’s REV wraps line also supported Nesvold, taking film footage of him during his training and run, while the company also donated to the cause.

Nesvold took 100M4HUNGER and turned it into a great community effort that should make Austin residents proud.
