Letter: Vote for someone who loves Austin

I am getting ready to vote on the first Tuesday of November for a council person for Ward 2.

I think it is a “big’ deal. It is the closest that I will come to having someone help me navigate the city that I live in when it comes to a problem. I want that person to have skin in the game and having paid his/her dues by walking the neighborhoods, talking to residents and placing a couple of signs along the way.

Their phone number ought to be in the phone book for everyone to see. I want him/her to have a passion about the community and have attended a couple of city council meetings. I want them to be a good listener and approachable so that when I have a problem with the city that they will be my advocate.

This special person has to honestly care about the city and its future. They have to be free of prejudices, have an open mind and care deeply about doing the right thing for the city. Please, no hidden agendas.

The person that I will cast my vote for on Nov. 4 is David Hagen. He has those special attributes that make for a good council person for the Ward 2.
