Holiday show offers shopping, entertainment

The city of Grand Meadow is gearing up for the holidays, and starting with a show for the shops.

Several boutique businesses in Grand Meadow will take part in the 2014 Holiday Show beginning on Oct. 30. It will run through the first three weekends in November, on Thursdays through Sundays. 
Meadow Country Crafts and Gifts is a craft and consignment boutique open in Suites 104 and 107 of the Grand Meadow Business Center (GMBC), at 209 2nd Avenue NE in Grand Meadow.

Out Of The Box Treasures is a shop offering vintage, new and gently used items. Check out the merchandise and pick out some gifts in this boutique in Suite 105 of the GMBC.

Visit the Rail Runners Rail Road train club and see model trains rolling through the countryside and urban areas in this extensive model railroad set-up. The Rail Road Club Open House will be held on Saturdays and Sundays during the show, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Suite 119 of the GMBC.

The Holiday Show will also feature “Let’s Dance,” a traveling exhibit on loan from the Mower County Historical Society on display at the Grand Meadow Business Center. Walk through the exhibit and see the area’s Big Band roots.

The Hidden Treasures Christmas Market at 313 First Street SW in Grand Meadow will feature crafts and reclaimed items such as glassware and Christmas decorating items.

The 2014 Holiday Show will take place at the Grand Meadow Business Center. Get in the holiday spirit with holiday shopping and decorating, and check out the activities available at this year’s show.
