The No. 5 seeded Southland football team came into its Section 1A tournament opener on a high note, but the Rebels started slow and their season came to an end in a 47-17 loss to No. 4 seeded Faribault Bethlehem Academy (7-2 overall) in Faribault Tuesday.

FBA’s Christian Von Ruden ran for 376 yards and six TDs in the win.

Southland (5-4 overall) trailed 28-3 at the half as Dominiq Bouska hit a 33-yard field goal to make it 7-3 in the first quarter.

Southland trailed 34-3 in the third quarter before Max Tapp broke a 61-yard TD run and Cole Erie had a seven-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.
