Florence C. VonFeldt, 98, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota.

Florence Christine Sheeley was born March 20, 1916, in Rose Hill, Iowa, to Ernest and Pearl (Knowler) Sheeley. She attended school in Iowa. On Jan. 1, 1970, she was united in marriage to Sylvanus VonFeldt in Austin. Florence was employed by Hormel Foods, where she worked for over 30 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Austin, where she was active in the Women’s Circle. Florence also belonged to the Eagles Club. Her special interests were fishing, dancing, and gardening. Many people enjoyed her flower gardens. Florence’s greatest joy was her family.

Florence is survived by her sons: Arnold ‘Arnie’ (Tammara) Lang of Austin, Robert Lang of Hawthorne, Nevada, Richard ‘Dick’ Lang of Austin; her step-daughter Marianne (James) Hayes of Scottsdale, Arizona; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; brother Darrell Sheeley of Wabasha, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Pearl Sheeley; her husband Sylvanus VonFeldt in 2005; her daughter Vera Mae Ingersoll; three sisters, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Pastor Marilee Benson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at Worlein Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the United Methodist Church Women or the Mower County Senior Citizens Center. Services prearranged and performed by Worlein Funeral Home of Austin. Condolences may be expressed to the family online atwww.worlein.com.
