Austin man reports 2 guns stolen from truck

Police have no suspects yet

Austin police are looking into a gun theft that took place in northwest Austin.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said a victim reported early Sunday that someone broke into his pickup truck and stole two guns from the vehicle.

Missing is a High Standard .22 caliber nine-shot revolver, with a 9-inch blued finish barrel and wooden grips, along with an unknown amount of ammo. In addition, the victim reported a Mossberg Model 835 pump-action shotgun with a camouflage finish was stolen.

Krueger said there were no suspects at this time. He also said it’s much better for gun owners to lock their guns in a gun safe.
