Nancy Ann Nei, 59, of Austin, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at Mayo Clinic St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Nancy was born in Austin on May 5, 1955, to Clayton Wallace and Nettie Mae (Moffit) Nei. She graduated from Austin High School in 1973. After high school, Nancy served her country by working in the medical field of the US Army for six years and was stationed at bases in San Francisco, Belgium and Korea.
After her military service, she started working for Mayo Clinic in the Bio Statistics Department as a data processing specialist. She was there for over 30 years.
Nancy loved taking her dog “Scout” on walks. She also loved reading books.
Nancy is survived by her siblings, Karen Nei, George Nei and Chuck Nei, all of Austin; niece, Sondra Nei (Jeff Mason) and their children Tyler, Riley and Kyle Mason; and Nancy’s dog “Scout”.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at Mayer Funeral Home with Pr. Gerry Giese officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service only. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by the Austin American Legion Post No. 91. Online condolences can be made at Condolences-www.mayerfh.com.
