William “Bill” McCloud, 87, of LeRoy, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at his home.

William E. McCloud was born Aug. 21, 1926, in Moravia, Iowa, to Irl and Floy (Taylor) McCloud. He was a 1944 graduate from Austin High School in Austin, Minnesota. On Jan. 17, 1948, Bill was united in marriage to Meda Miner in Austin. Bill spent his whole life farming. He was very active in the community, serving over 38 years on the LeRoy Area Ambulance Board and LeRoy Township Board. Bill also served on the Creamery Board and was a member of the Mower County Mounted Posse. When Bill wasn’t farming, he enjoyed fishing and going on fishing trips with his friends.

Bill is survived by his wife, Meda of LeRoy, Minnesota; children, Jerry (CeCe) McCloud of Brownsdale, Minnesota, Vickie (Curtis) Davis of Bernice, Oklahoma, Billy (Kay) McCloud of LeRoy, Minneosta, Randy (Vicki) McCloud of LeRoy, Minnesota, Kristie (Dennis Hammon) Kraft of Lime Springs, Iowa, and Timothy (Corrine) McCloud of Hutchinson, Minnesota; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irl and Floy; brother, Lester Max McCloud; son-in-law, Stephen Kraft; and grandchildren, Cheryl Davis and Michael Miles.

Funeral services for William “Bill” McCloud will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at the LeRoy Lutheran Church in LeRoy, Minnesota, with Pastor Steve Huecker officiating. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy, Minnesota, and one hour prior to the service at church.
