Glenn Danzel Tapp, 91, of Rose Creek, Minnesota, passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home.

He was born April 10, 1923, in Alden, Minnesota, to Harvey and Myrtle (Smith) Tapp. Glenn attended school in Red Rock Township, Mower County, and enlisted in the United States Army in 1948. On Nov. 26, 1950, he was united in marriage to Shirley Patterson at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Waltham, Minnesota. The couple raised five children. Glenn liked gardening and traveling, and especially working on the farm. He worked at Concrete Units, Inc., as a day laborer. He raised laying hens and fryers to sell at a convenience store that he and Shirley operated in Austin. He farmed in the Brownsdale, Dexter, and Rose Creek area until his retirement in 1971. Glenn was a member of the Rose Creek Community Church. In 2005 he moved to Adams Health Care Center, then to St. Mark’s Lutheran Home April 10, 2006.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Shirley Tapp, of Rose Creek; his children, Gary (Kathy) Tapp, of Ellsworth, Wisconsin, Wanda (Kirk) Boyd of Lyle, Minnesota, Kevin Tapp of Osage, Minnesota, Gregory Tapp (Andrea Kicklighter) of Mulberry, Florida, Lisa Tapp (Jonathon Harte) of Rose Creek; seven grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; siblings Gaylord (Erene) Tapp of Brownsdale, Leslie (Shirley) Tapp and Delmar Tapp, both of Dexter, John Tapp of Owatonna, and Irene Parker of Lockwood, Missouri; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Myrtle Tapp; two step-mothers; his sister Maxine; four brothers Howard, Wayne, Raymond, and Donald; three sister-in-laws; one brother-in-law; and his granddaughter Bridget.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with the Rev. David Hoot officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, at Worlein Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin, with military rites by American Legion Post 91. Memorials can be directed to recipient of donor’s choice. Services prearranged and performed by Worlein Funeral Home of Austin. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
