The Riverland Community College volleyball team opened its season with a home triangular in Riverland Gym Wednesday.

The Blue Devils beat Western Technical College 25-22, 25-20, 25-18 and they lost to Waldorf JV 26-24, 25-19, 15-5.

Haley Hopf, a freshman from Rutland, S.D., had 21 kills on the night for the Blue Devils (1-1 overall, 1-1 MCAC South).
