An Austin man accused of possessing drugs near a school pleaded not guilty to various drug-related charges in Mower County court Thursday.

Scott Richard Anderson, 41, faces two counts of possessing drugs in a school zone, one count each of first-degree sale of drugs, second degree drug possession and driving after cancellation — inimical to public safety.

According to police reports, officers stopped Anderson Tuesday morning after he was caught driving with a canceled license. Police found crystal methamphetamine in Anderson’s car and arrested him.

Based on information gathered during the arrest, officers obtained a search warrant and went through Anderson’s house at the 1800 block of East Oakland Avenue later that day. They allegedly found 2.5 grams of meth in the home.

Officers had served warrants at Anderson’s home at least twice over the past few years.
