A 26-year-old Albert Lea man was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly fracturing another man’s face and knocking out two of his teeth.

The suspect was arrested for third-degree assault after officers were called to the 100 block of Second Avenue Northeast at about 12:25 a.m. Thursday, according to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger.

Krueger said the suspect and a 28-year-old victim started fighting in the bathroom of Mickey’s Bar after the victim allegedly cut in line. The suspect allegedly brawled with the victim and knocked out two of his teeth in the bathroom, which police later recovered.

The fight had moved outside when police arrived. Krueger said officers had to use mace on both men after they refused to stop fighting. The men were then taken into custody without further incident.
