Local dance director Marny Rohr is ready to get students excited over dancing.

Rohr attended the 2014 Just For Kix annual convention with more than 147 Just For Kix youth program directors from Minnesota, North Dakota, New Mexico, Texas, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Colorado and South Dakota. The 2014 directors convention was held at Forestview Middle School and The Legacy at Cragun’s Resort on July 27 through 29. The convention has been going on 30 years.

Rohr has been the Austin Just For Kix Director for 20 years and was awarded an outstanding service award commemorating her years as a director. She has also been a field coordinator with for Just For Kix for 20 years and oversees all JFK programs in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa.

“It was such an honor to be recognized at the annual Just For Kix Directors Awards Banquet. It was a very special night,” Rohr said in a press release.

The Convention offered multiple educational and programming classes, including courses on hip hop, jazz, kick, lyrical, pom, musical theater, ballet and novelty.
