Three people were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin after a two-car crash at Oakland Avenue West and 12th Street Sunday night.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said a 28-year-old driver and her 34-year-old passenger were traveling westbound on Oakland when they collided with a 16-year-old driver traveling northbound on 12th Street. Each driver believed they had a green light, according to Krueger.

The 28-year-old’s truck smashed into the 16-year-old’s rear passenger side and pushed the 16-year-old’s car onto the grass near Wescott Athletic Field. The 16-year-old and 34-year-old were taken to the hospital via ambulance, while the 28-year-old went to the hospital through other transportation.
