Three hurt in I-90 rollover in Freeborn Co.

OAKLAND — Three people were injured on the Fourth of July in a rollover crash on Interstate 90 east of Oakland in Freeborn County.

Adam M. Smith, 21, of Caledonia, Daniel J. Rudd, 32, of Rochester and Courtney R. Smith, 20, of Decorah, Iowa, were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries that were deemed not life-threatening.

Adam Smith was listed as the driver of the 1992 Chevy S10 Blazer that rolled over. Rudd and Courtney Smith were passengers, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The State Patrol report stated the group was headed eastbound on I-90 near milepost 167 shortly before 7:30 a.m. when Adam Smith lost control of the vehicle, and it rolled in the right ditch.

All three people were wearing their seat belts. The report stated it is unknown if alcohol was a factor.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
