A local Austin student made the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Homecoming court.

Marni Surdy, majoring in merchandising and design and minoring in management in the School of Design, is a candidate for the college’s homecoming competition.

Born and raised in Austin, she is a Horatio Alger Scholar and is currently an active member of Delta Gamma.

She was a Rho Alpha for sorority recruitment in fall of 2013. She currently works as a server at Annie’s Parlour.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading and being weird with her friends.
