The Riverland Community College Foundation and the Riverland Athletic Department hosted the 27th annual Blue Devils Athletics Golf Fundraiser June 2 at the Austin Country Club. This year, 83 golfers participated to raise more than $17,000. Through the years, this event has raised more than $155,000 to support Riverland Athletic teams like baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, and soccer.

The event included an 18-hole tournament in a four-person scramble format, dinner with a program, and a silent auction. Special events on the course included prize contests on every hole in addition to the Fuhrman Shoot Out, the Donker’s Shoot Out, the Streater’s Shoot out, the Y Waste Removal Garbage game, and the Accentra Credit Union Putting contest.

Major sponsors of the event included Mayo Clinic Health System-Albert Lea and Austin, Streater, Inc., Hill, Larson, Walth & Benda Streater, Inc., Riverland Community College, Dunham Sports, Fuhrman Real Estate, Hy-Vee of Austin and Albert Lea, Apollo Liquor, Culligan Water of Albert Lea and Hormel Foods, along with many other golf hole sponsors and silent auction donations from local businesses.
