Amanda Hocking, of Austin, Minn., and Michael Arends, of Rochester, Minn., announce their engagement.

Amanda is the daughter of Lorraine and Duane Felt of Austin and Rick and Lisa Hocking of Blooming Prairie. She graduated from Austin High School in 2002 and is a New York Times bestselling author of the “Trylle” and “Watersong” book series.

Michael is the son of Patricia and Greg Arends of Rochester, Minn. and is a 2002 Rochester Century graduate. He is currently a freelance web designer.

Both are still attending college.

The couple will wed in Minneapolis in December and will make their residence in Rochester.
