Plans are set for the Austin skate park to get a new addition.

After raising $3,181 last year through a fundraising competition, a building company has been hired to put in a new grinding box soon, according to Kim Underwood, director of Austin Parks, Recreation, and Forestry.

Underwood allowed the people who use the park to decide what they wanted built, so It was decided that a grinding box would be installed.

“I think it’ll enhance the park,” Underwood said. “I’m excited about what’s going to happen there.”
