Letter: ‘Thank you’ to blood donorsPublished 5:34pm Saturday, June 21, 2014
The Freeborn-Mower County Chapter of the American Red Cross would like to thank all blood donors who helped make the June, 2014 Austin Community blood drive a success. A total of 220 units were collected during the 3-day draw! Congratulations to several donors who received milestone pins, and to all first-time donors!
A special thanks to the VFW and many volunteers for their help with set-up and tear-down. Also, thanks to the following businesses for their contributions and support: St. Edward’s Church and Corcoran Center, Sue Viehauser, Culligan Water Conditioning, Hy-Vee Food Store, Jim’s Marketplace Foods, Austin Daily Herald, Rochester Post Bulletin, and KAUS Radio.
Mark your calendar for Aug. 11, 12 and 13, 2014, and plan to donate at the next Austin Community Blood Drive. There is no substitute for human blood. The gift of life runs through you. Contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767 or online at www.redcrossblood.org for more information or to schedule an appointment.
