The Austin boys tennis team couldn’t advance any of its players out of the Section 1AA individual tournament in Rochester Thursday.

Austin’s Colton Detwiler had his run end when he lost to No. 1 seeded and previous state participant Isaac Toivonen 6-0, 6-1.

Detwiler had beaten Ben Kiimek of Hastings 6-1, 6-4 and topped Taylor Herfindahl 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

Owen Nelson lost his singles match 6-1, 6-1 to Steve Roach of Hastings.

In doubles, Jeremy Olmsted and Seth Hebink lost 6-1, 6-2 to Caleb Allen and Ben Watts of Winona and Ethan Anderson, a senior, and Jens Ourada lost to a No. 3 seeded team from Red Wing.

“Ethan’s leadership and hard work will be missed,” Austin head coach Troy Diekman said.
