Marco Antonio Arevalo-Santiago, 27, of Richfield was charged May 1 by summons in Dakota County District Court with two counts of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct, both gross misdemeanors.

He’s first due in court June 2.

Arevalo-Santiago told police he was just “playing” around with employees and ended up going too far, according to the criminal complaint against him.

According to the charges:

Arevalo-Santiago had numerous run-ins with sexual overtones with a new employee, a 16-year-old boy, from late 2013 to February 2014.

The incidents included allegedly putting his hand on the employee’s pocket, teaching the employee a “secret handshake” that Arevalo-Santiago said stood for sex, and cornering the employee in the bathroom and rubbing his stomach and hips.

At one point, Arevelo-Santiago also asked the employee if his “french fry” was at least 6 inches long, according to the charges.

A second employee told police that Arevalo-Santiago “routinely made suggestive and sexual comments to the staff” and inappropriately touched him about twice a week, according to the charges.
